Suggestion Box

Thanks to the intrepid readers over at my home-town blog Capitol Hill Seattle I now have my first purveyor of hash, er, hashed out. Look out B&O, I'm headed your way! Do you have a favorite hashery in Seattle that you wouldn't mind divulging? Leave me a comment letting me know the name of the restaurant and I'll add it to my list.

Thanks!

Salmon Bay Cafe, 5109 Shilshole, 98107

Bagel Oas --er, Roxy's Diner, 462 N. 36th, 98103

I think Lockspot has hash, but I seem to think they only do breakfast on the weekends and are pricier than Salmon Bay -- not sure -- Lockspot Cafe, 3005 NW 54th, 98107

Quite possibly the Dish has hash, but it's been awhile since I was there. Dish Cafe, 4358 Leary, 98107.

When I think of more or find more, I'll let you know.

Seriously, make the trip to Salmon Bay.

Chad and Amy: Thanks for all of your suggestions. I've been hearing great things about Salmon Bay for a while and haven't been yet. Maybe I'll make that my choice for week 2!

just one question -- are you giving up on Career Woman Inc. ?

I'm thinking you should combine the concepts.

Oh yeah...
That was an example blog I did for a client. I should delete that!

B&O's hash is great!

Cafe Venus has an excellent corned beef hash. A hearty plate of it!

Crave has a hash of the day, which is sometimes corned beef, but often not corned beef. So it might go against your principles and everything, but you could try calling ahead and finding out (in case its like squash and bacon hash or something)

Dude you must rock the hashes at Shanty Cafe over on Elliot and Harrison. Great corned beef hash and they have roast beef hash too.

The Dish does indeed have hash, but it's the classy not-from-a-can hash. Personally, I prefer the unique dogfoodiness of canned hash (the crust it forms on the bottom as it fries is simply unbeatable) but from scratch hash will do in a pinch.
